Tama Zoo

Just had a wonderful trip to the zoo yesterday. I was originally intending to go to Ueno Zoo, but when I found out it was closed I made the journey to Tama Zoo instead. Probably this was a good thing as it is a beautiful place and there was a serendipitous feel to the whole trip.
You can see in the gallery that there was a very sweet girl who had come to draw the orangutan. What might not be quite so clear is that the orangutan was actually posing, not only for her but for me, too! You can really see what an intelligent and sensitive creature she was and the other guests were delighted by this.
Hopefully these pics will show I’m not an all words and no pictures kind of a guy… remember what I said about bringing your camera along with you..? This is the kind of magical thing you get to see.
